About The Project

We are six graduates of New York University's Studio 20 and Reporting the Nation graduate programs. This was the final project for our Advanced Multimedia course, dedicated to telling compelling stories on a digital platform. Once we started noticing how many elderly people were navigating a city that even exhausts us, we felt a strong urge to tell some of their stories.

Sarah Bourassa, 28, graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in News-Editorial Journalism. She chose NYY;s Studio 20 graduate program because she is passionate about the emerging field of digital journalism and multimedia storytelling.

She loved interviewing Gisela, who shows it's never too late to give up hope, and Rebecca and Herbert, who tell a genuine story about love in their 90s. You can view her work at sarahbourassa.wordpress.com.

Also known as Trini Trent, Trent Jones is an pop culture blogger from Trinidad and Tobago. With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies, he journeyed to New York City to join NYU's Studio 20 graduate program. That is where he developed his skills in filming and video production as well as a keen interest in social issues like race, gender, sexuality, sex and culture.

Trent contributed to filming and developing The Misfit but took the lead on The Lovers, framing a glimpse of the lives of Herbert and Rebecca. How does love look after 90? Tune in and find out.

Kulsoom Khan graduated from Pennsylvania State University where she studied Print Journalism and Sociology. She decided to pursue further studies with NYU's Graduate Reporting The Nation program to expand her horizons.

She is very interested in all forms of multimedia storytelling as well as broadcast news.

Lilah Raptopoulos is a new media enthusiast currently community building with Guardian US. She's a graduate of NYU's Studio 20 masters program in digital innovation, and spent much of this fall eating cannolis with Luke and talking NYT crosswords with Mimi.

You can find her on twitter at @lilahrap and see her work at lilahrap.com

Kyli Singh, 24 years old, is a graduate NYU's Studio 20 program in digital journalism. Previously, she attended University of Miami and double majored in journalism and English literature.

Kyli enjoyed learning about Mimi, and filming her at the Museum of Modern Art. You can find her at @kylisingh and see her work at kylisingh.com.

Monica Torres is a graduate of NYU's Studio 20 program in digital innovation. In journalism, she loves discovering the unexpected and challenging gatekeepers of information.

What she'll remember most is cruising in access-a-ride with Mrs. Jenkins and joyriding through Astoria with Luke. Find her at monicatorr.es or tweet her @MoniFierce
